Homes at Comanche Trace are surrounded by expansive Hill Country views, but the heart of this master-planned community is its award-winning championship golf course. Tom Kite, along with Roy Bechtol and Randy Russell, designed the first 18, The Valley and The Hills, utilizing the exquisite Hill Country terrain, which is blessed with majestic oaks. Lakes and streams were also incorporated along with the best bent grass greens in the state.

Jay and Carter Morrish designed a series of streams and lakes that meander around the third 9, The Creeks, which opened in July of 2008.

Championship Golf – 27-holes of award winning, premium Hill Country golf with the best course conditions in the state, designed by golf course architects who know how to accentuate the native terrain for the ultimate golf experience.

15-acre Practice facility – There is access to hitting stations on both ends of the facility. On the south end of the facility there is a complete short game area with its own dedicated pitching and putting green as well as a fairway bunker and greenside bunker for practice.

24,000 Square Foot Clubhouse with Pro Shop – The Pro Shop includes apparel, shoes, and equipment from vendors such as Peter Millar, FootJoy, Oxford, Adidas, Ashworth, Titleist, Cobra, Scotty Cameron, Callaway, Ping, and Cleveland. The Clubhouse also houses both Men’s and Ladies locker facilities as well as a full service bar and restaurant serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner.

Comanche Trace is somewhat unique because they are not dense with trees, but have marquis trees throughout. The fairways are generous and playable with striking bunkers and outstanding views on each green.

Comanche Trace offers beautiful golf holes, natural contouring and pristine conditions. The greens are a blend of bent grass, Crenshaw and L93 bent grass, which, combined with remarkable drainage and dry air, have no need for fans. Comanche Trace course conditions are renowned among golfers as the best in the state and some of the best in the nation.

All three nines begin from the high point of the fifteen acre practice facility, located at the Honor House. The practice facility includes a short-game area at the lower end with two, large tee boxes, practice green, fairway type bunker, greenside bunker, and five target greens inside of 120 yards. It is a pristine setting with long-range views and beautiful, old live oak trees for shading around the practice area.

Our 27-hole golf course appeals to and challenges enthusiasts of every age and ability, with Kerrville and the Texas Hill Country offering a remarkable climate that allows for great golf twelve months out of the year.
