Brechtel Park Golf Course

THIS COURSE IS CLOSED FOR RENOVATION. Project in design phase, little to no chance of completion before late 2014 at the soonest.This course was hit hard by wind/water damage from Katrina, including near total destruction of the irrigation system. FEMA funded interim irrigation was performed during 2006 and early 2007, using trucks and pumps from water hazards, with portable hoses. This flood type irrigation of greens may have began the deterioration process that accelerated once interim irrigation ended. The greens became nearly unplayable by 2010, Fred Frederickson left in mar. 2010, and the course was closed in 2011. A $6,900,000 project will eventually renovate this facility. Curr. in design phase with no timetable.Brechtel Park Golf Course is an 18-hole regulation length golf course in New Orleans, Louisiana. This short layout has 3 sets of teeboxes for a fun, but challenging golfing experience. Online tee times may be available at Brechtel Park Golf Course or at nearby golf courses, usually offered at a discount from the normal rate.
