Being close to D.C. is a distinct advantage for golfing in Maryland. There is a large selection of courses, and many have historical significance, for example, Bethesda's Congressional Country Club where many world dignitaries have relaxed on its fairways. Try the 6,900 yard Hampshire Greens course in eastern Montgomery County. It is public and well known for the maturity of trees and narrow fairways. It, also, is quite reasonably priced and can be booked online. Other courses to consider are the Links at Challedon in Mt. Airy, or Little Bennett Golf Course in Clarksburg. Both offer a good game of golf!
